Guardian One Mile Challenge · September 1–30, 2026. One mile a day to fund free mental health care for veterans and first responders.
Only needed if you ever reinstall the app or switch phones. Pick something you will remember.
Your log lives on this phone and syncs to the Local 2029 board. Nothing is posted publicly.

Nobody is out. Anyone behind can make up their miles on any day through Sept 30.
Self-reported on the honor system, as the Guardian One Mile Challenge specifies. Generated from this participant's daily log.
Only if you haven't already logged the day. On iPhone this needs the app added to your home screen first.
Keeps you off the Local 2029 board. Your miles still count and still appear on the Local's record for the gift card — this only hides you from the other guys.
The same sheet we handed out — installing it, and how make-up days work.
Your miles stay on the Local 2029 board. Signing back in needs your name and PIN.

Use Safari. Chrome on iPhone cannot do this.
Type mile-tracker.pages.dev, or tap the link we sent you.
The square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll down the grey list of options. It is usually about halfway down.
The Local 2029 seal appears on your home screen like any other app.
Use Chrome.
Type mile-tracker.pages.dev, or tap the link we sent you.
Top right corner of the screen.
Some phones call it "Install app". Either one works.
The Local 2029 seal appears on your home screen like any other app.
The 6:00 PM reminder only works once the app is on your home screen. Apple does not let a website send you a notification from a normal Safari tab. Everything else — logging your mile, the calendar, the Local 2029 board — works either way, so if you skip this you just have to remember on your own.
Walk your mile, open the app, tap the big red button. That is the whole thing. Miss a day? Tap that day on the calendar and log it later — the challenge rules allow make-up days, so nothing is lost. Finish all 30 and the Local has your record for the gift card.
Walk it another day. The challenge rules allow it, and so does the app.
Open it and the banner reads "One to make up — Tue, Sep 8 is open." No broken streak, no red X. Just the day and the fact.
On the September calendar, the day you owe is the one with a dashed red outline instead of a solid fill.
A panel slides up headed with that date, asking whether you are walking it today.
The square fills in solid red, your count goes up by one, and the banner flips back to "On pace".
Making up Tuesday does not log today. On a catch-up day you walk two miles and tap twice — the big red button for today, the calendar square for the day you owe. Doubling up counts toward the day you missed, not toward extra credit. The goal is 30 days, 30 miles.
You can make up any earlier day at any point through September 30, and several at once if you have fallen behind. The app never locks a day. Tapped one by mistake? Tap it again and choose "Clear this day".
